Eclipse, a leading battery storage, development, and energy trading company, and BNP Paribas, one of the largest banks in the Eurozone, announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems and strengthen Europe’s energy resilience, including a strategic equity investment in Eclipse by BNP Paribas. Through its proprietary algo trading software, Flowstream, Eclipse optimizes battery energy storage assets in real time for its own and third party assets, while developing, owning, and operating industrial scale energy assets with a pipeline of 16 projects in France and Belgium totaling 850 MW. The partnership provides tailored financing solutions for BESS projects, hedging instruments to manage merchant risk, and long term offtake solutions leveraging BNP Paribas’ credit strength and structuring capabilities alongside Eclipse’s optimization and trading expertise. Building on BNP Paribas’ 20 years of electricity trading experience, the collaboration supports financing and scaling battery storage projects, enhancing market flexibility, sustainability, energy security, and Europe’s energy transition.
