Eslinger Biofuels has announced a landmark five year, $48 million off take and credit monetization agreement with STX Group, marking a significant step in addressing California’s clean fuel market supply gap after the state lost more than 300,000 barrels per day of refining capacity since 2020. Under the agreement, STX Group assumes exclusive forward purchase rights across EBI’s full compliance credit stack, including D4 RINs under the Renewable Fuel Standard, California LCFS credits, and 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credits, generating an estimated $9.3 million in annual gross credit revenue at current market rates. The five year exclusive commitment signals growing institutional conviction that California’s compliance credit market, supported by federal and state mechanisms, represents a durable long term asset class. Eslinger Biofuels stands out among biodiesel producers in North America due to its complete control over feed stock quality and carbon intensity from collection through refining, with ultra low carbon used cooking oil feed stocks sourced through a wholly owned supply chain spanning California, Nevada and Arizona. This integrated approach enables the company to consistently generate maximum federal and state compliance credits per gallon while producing premium grade distilled B100 that meets CARB specifications, serving transportation, commercial fleet, marine and aviation markets. The company’s established customer base, including TA Travel Centers, highlights the reliability of its supply chain and product consistency. The partnership also strengthens Eslinger Biofuels’ institutional platform, with STX Group leading the forward purchase and monetization of credits while providing structured market access and reach into major compliance credit markets. Eco Engineers has been retained to administer the D4 RIN Quality Assurance Program, ensuring regulatory compliance as production volumes scale. The California Energy Commission has further affirmed the company’s strategic role in the state’s clean energy infrastructure through grants totaling $7.1 million, including $6.0 million for refinery development and $1.2 million supporting a 1 Megawatt solar energy and EV charging installation at the Fresno terminal. This development aligns with the company’s vision of creating a fully integrated clean energy hub in the Central Valley. Looking ahead, Eslinger Biofuels has confirmed a 2028 facility expansion through technology and licensing partnerships with a leading FEED engineering firm, which will add renewable diesel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel production while maintaining full B100 output. At scale, the Fresno terminal is expected to serve as a leading inland clean fuel port for the Central Valley and supply West Coast markets.
