Oka Partners with BACX to Launch World’s First Pre-Insured Exchange-Traded Carbon CreditsExchangesVCM News

OkaOka, The Carbon Insurance Company (Oka) today announced an industry-first partnership with BACX (Bolsa Argentina de Carbono), brokered by Lockton, to insure afforestation and reforestation carbon credits listed on the Argentinian exchange. These will be the world’s first exchange-traded credits sold with embedded invalidation cover, establishing a new precedent in the carbon markets. Commenting on the alliance, Oka Founder and CEO Chris Slater said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with BACX on a launch that sets a new industry standard. This is a critical step towards establishing embedded insurance as an industry standard, validating Oka’s starting thesis that every carbon credit must ultimately carry cover.”
