TDB-DST Partners with Gudlyf Mobility to Develop Indigenous 700 Bar Hydrogen Storage

The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has signed an agreement with Gudlyf Mobility to fund the development and commercialization of indigenous 700 bar hydrogen storage systems. Based in Madurai, Gudlyf is a deep-tech startup specializing in Type IV and Type V Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs). The project aims to establish an advanced manufacturing facility to produce lightweight, high-pressure cylinders for diverse applications, including hydrogen mobility, UAVs, CNG storage, and defence sectors. TDB Secretary Sh. Rajesh Kumar Pathak emphasized that this initiative is critical for building a resilient domestic hydrogen value chain and reducing import dependence. The partnership supports the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” mission by strengthening India’s capabilities in advanced composite technologies for the clean energy transition.
