California approves 11 new carbon projects for cap-and-trade schemeSeven projects using the livestock-based involving methane capture, destruction and biogas burning methodology earned the approval from the board. Five of these projects are owned by TerraPass while two are owned by Camco International Group. Three projects based on the Ozone Depleting Substances methodology were also approved. Two of these projects are owned by CE2 California II while one is owned by Vitol. One project based on the forestry methodology, owned by Blue Source was also approved.

Some voluntary offset projects that have been issued offset credits by approved voluntary registries for GHG reductions that occurred between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2014 may be eligible to be issued ARB offset credits. However, they have to undergo a strict regulatory verification which includes an assessment of conflict of interest and a desk review to confirm the validity of the initial verification. So far 41 Early Action Projects have been approved by the ARB.

Camco International Group, with 11 projects, has the most number of projects approved followed by Environmental Credit Corporation and Blue Source.
