Finding the Flight Path – Sustainable Aviation Fuels vs CORSIA Offsets
Wednesday, 5th June 2024
10:00 am PT

As of 2024, most emissions from the world’s largest airlines are now subject to mandatory compliance under the CORSIA program. Emissions beyond a 2019 baseline must be compensated for; airlines have the option to utilize CORSIA-approved carbon credits or reduce emissions by adopting cleaner fuels. The choice lies with them, while the economics are ours to scrutinize.

There has been tremendous investment, target-setting, and capacity growth for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), whilst the CORSIA approvals process remains ongoing and has yet to produce a final defined class of eligible credits. Yet the race is not yet run, and the speed of SAF adoption will be meted by the use of CORSIA credits.

For this conversation we will be joined by the following expert panelists:

Susan van Dyk is an expert in the field of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and biofuels with 15 years experience. As a consultant, she helps companies, governments and international organisations to develop and implement sustainable biofuel solutions.

Helena Rodriguez is a sustainability consultant and SAF expert working with Netherlands Airport Consultants (NACO). At NACO, Helena researches SAF implementation for European airports in the context of both voluntary and compliance programs.

We look forward to seeing you there!
